Have you signed up for JED this Friday?
JED will be open on Friday and we are looking forward to the field trip to Cabin John Skating Rink.
JED's
hours are 8 am to 6 pm on Friday. Check-in at the school will be in the morning and we will leave on the buses to Cabin John
by 10:30 am. We are scheduled to return to Janney at 4 pm where we will remain until 6 pm.
Several parents
have asked what to send with their children for the day and the following is guidance on what to prepare for.
We are asking that students dress warm (hat, gloves and warm coat) as the ice ring tends to get cold even though it’s
indoors. As a precaution, we recommend that beginner and even advance skaters bring some form of protective headgear.
Bike helmet, skateboard helmet and the like will be fine.
Students attending should bring a brown bag lunch
instead of a lunch box. We recommend that you pack items that the kids can throw away when they finish their lunch.
The staff is considering bringing some games and offering activities at the Cabin John for those students who
don’t feel comfortable on the ice or don’t skate the entire time.
We want this field trip
to be positive, fun and a memorable experience for everyone involve.
